Kitchen Backsplash

Another important design consideration is the kitchen backsplash.  A kitchen backsplash is a wall covering that is put on the walls above the countertop, sink and stove.  These areas are subject to lots of splashes during food preparation and therefore need a durable, cleanable surface.  But that doesn’t mean they can’t add visual interest.

Backsplash tile surfaces are one solution.  Don’t think the old 50’s style kitchen tile (although we can do that if you’re designing a 50s style kitchen).  Top Shelf Interiors can install nearly any kind of tile on the backsplash area.  This can be ceramic tile, decorative tile, natural stone tile or even glass tile.

Other options include solid granite or stone backsplashes to match a counter surface, laminates like Formica, or even textured metal surfaces, which can be quite functional around cooktop surfaces.
