Counter: Kitchen

kitchen-sinkYour kitchen counter tops can be the focal point of your new kitchen.  Dramatic colors and textures make your countertop an eye-catching feature of your new space.  For today's high-tech kitchens, we have a wide variety of materials for you to choose from - some ancient, others ultra-modern.

When considering your new kitchen countertop, you should start think about how you use the kind of wear you'll put your counter through.  Stone materials can withstand hot pans and knife cuts, but can be susceptible to certain spills.  Man-made materials  can  aren't typically as hard as stone, but are easier to sanitize.

You’ll also get to decide color and pattern of the surface and the surface texture – will you have a mirror smooth top, or would you prefer a slight leather-like texture or a soft matte that feels smooth but doesn’t reflect light the way a mirror finish would.
The edge detail in your countertop will be another important decision.  Edges can be made with contrasting materials to add some design punch, or can be smooth and seamless.  Edge details also will help you define the impression of the thickness of the countertop itself.

I'm still organized...

"I really didn't think that remodeling our master closet would solve my clutter issues...not only did it, but the closet is so beautiful that it's kept me organized..."
